ESG Academy: The Role of the Bank in the Green Transformation of the Economy

Dear Students, Alumni, and Friends of Kozminski University, Before the end of the year it is time for our 2nd ESG Academy! This time we will learn about "The Role of the Bank in the Green Transformation of the Economy".

Every second month, we invite you to an inspirational meeting with the best experts in the field of ESG, Sustainable Development, and green finance. The events are organized in a hybrid formula, so it is up to you if you want to join us on the University campus or online on the MS Teams platform. During the event you will learn about:

  • development of the sustainable products market (examples, data, statistics)
  • regulations on sustainable financing
  • the role of green financing in the transformation of companies
  • challenges and opportunities facing the financial sector
  • an overview of sustainable financial products and the specifics of their operation
  • examples of interesting transactions
  • ESG ratings from the perspective of the financing institution

The meeting will be concluded with a special Q&A Session with our guest.

Our special guest:

Michał Szalast-Dao Quy

Head of the Sustainable Finance Team at BNP Paribas Polska Bank, involved in corporate banking since 2017.

Currently, Michał manages a team structuring sustainable financing in the Sustainability-Linked Loan formula and the development of other banking products with an ESG component. Previous professional experience related to financing the energy sector, mainly large-scale renewable energy projects in the project finance formula. Project coordinator in the field of energy efficiency, electromobility and financing sustainable business transformation.

Co-author of the report "Business for the climate - report on changing priorities". Member of the Sustainable Finance Platform working group at the Ministry of Finance. Graduate of Management and International Relations at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
